Adapted is a new Brooklyn based design studio focused on creating unique playful designs for interactive media.

What we do

At its core Adapted is a small team of multitalented interactive designers. Designed to be fast and flexible, our business model revolves around assembling teams of specialists to meet the unique needs of each project: from websites and interactive installations, to video games and application prototyping.

Who we are

Adapted was founded by Matthew Cooley and Eric Ishii Eckhardt. Both attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design as Interactive Design majors. Following graduation, Eric became the New Media Designer at the Walker Art Center. In 2007 he moved to New York and co-founded the Studio for Interactive Media. Matthew moved to New York after graduating in 2003, and worked for several years as the senior interactive designer at the design studio Honest. In 2008, Matthew and Eric started Adapted.
