Williamsburg Pizza Throw Down
We hosted a pizza party this afternoon, our friends (and incidentally food bloggers) from Rumors & Faile came over and compared pizzas from two of Williamsburg's finest pizzeria's.

Hi, from Mike
Hi! My name is Mike Burrill. I'm the new guy here at Adapted. Since coming here about a month ago I've been working on design, web development and branding projects and it's been awesome. Since we probably haven't met before (or even if we have), here's a few things about myself to help you get to know me better:
I was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I once fell through the ice on a frozen lake.
Design, art, music and computers are all big deals to me. I post a lot of design work and music that I like on my Tumblr.
I'm equally obsessed with skateboarding and recently put on a skateboarding-themed poster show at Tarnish & Gold Gallery in Minneapolis.
My favorite animal is the Elk.
Thanks for reading about me. If you'd like more frequent updates about me, you can follow me on Twitter where my name is @mikeburrill.
Adapted is Hiring
Adapted is looking for a junior web developer with excellent HTML and JavaScript skills. Just as important, you should have an ability and enthusiasm to learn new languages and technologies in a relatively short time period. Examples of tools you could be required to master quickly are AS3, Xcode, HTML5, and CMS platforms like Expression Engine and Django. Current knowledge in any of these technologies is a big plus, as is a visual design background.
We are a pretty small team, so while the skills needed to navigate the byzantine maze of office politics are unnecessary, good humor and an affable nature are a must.
If you are interested, please email your resume, references, and work examples to Matthew at contact@adaptedstudio.com, along with your salary expectations.
Adapted is an interactive design studio founded in 2008 and based in New York. We work on a wide variety of projects including web design, mobile applications and interactive installations.
doing great things with neon tubes
Scary or naive? Or perhaps scary naivety describe the esthetic of these covert ops badges. more
New Work
We launched a couple new projects recently and added them to our front page, take a look and let us know what you think.
Fashion collage maker. I'm especially fond of this series by eggibagga
Our client SCAPE is in the MoMA's Rising Currents exhibition with a proposal for Gowanus
Deluxx Fluxx Arcade Site
We launched a site for the Faile Bast Deluxx Fluxx Arcade. Play the games online, check out photos of the show, and download the original soundtrack.
I'm really into Mr. Doob's new drawing experiments on Canvas
Playing Games on the Internet
We do a lot of regular research into online games. Here's what we've found interesting lately.
Captain Forever
Collect space debris, assemble an ad-hoc ship and get ready for battle. This reminds me a lot of the early stages of Spore, but it's in space, and much more fun. Nicely done.
Time Fcuk
2d puzzles solved by flipping colors. We liked the dark humor and music in this one.
Fatty Bum Bum
The illustrations & animations are crazy fun, but the gameplay is kind of frustrating.
The Space Game
Mine astroids, set up automated defense systems, manage energy grids and raw materials. This game of systems management and planning is a really addictive experience.
A brief note on the ecosystem of small online games. There is a ton of great games out there, unfortunately a lot of sites hosting these games are supported by a hodgepodge of distracting banner ads. I'm sure this will change over time as successful funding models emerge and audiences grow.

More to come, but here is a mini-documentary on the Deluxx Fluxx show in London we just got back from working on.
